"It makes me feel good to help the environment and other people. It's important to me that I impart similar values in my children because there has to be some component of giving back and sustaining. And that's exactly what Growing Native is all about."

Current Opportunities:

Hands-on Outdoor Activities
We need volunteers who like to be outdoors and don't mind committing some energy and muscle toward protecting the Potomac River. Our outdoor volunteer events are often perfect for families, and are always a great way to meet other river lovers. We need volunteers of all ages to help withtrash cleanups, tree plantings and invasive plant removal.Contact: Office Coordinator, info@potomac.org.

Photographers and Videographers
Volunteer your skills to help the Potomac Conservancy tell its story! The Conservancy is seeking experienced or advanced amateur photographers and videographers to help document our hands-on community projects, ranging from tree plantings to river cleanups to bird hikes. Individuals experienced with video editing also needed. Photos and videos will be used for outreach and educational purposes. Contact: Anne Sundermann, Communications Manager, sundermann@potomac.org.

Administrative Volunteers
Help the Conservancy run smoothly behind the scenes. We need volunteers to assist with data entry, mailing preparation, filing, and other general administrative duties at our Silver Spring office. The best part? The chance to meet other river lovers, whether other volunteers or Potomac Conservancy staff! A minimum eight-hour commitment per month is required. We are a short walk from the Silver Spring Metro (red line). E-mail us today and learn more about this opportunity. Contact: Office Coordinator, info@potomac.org.
