The Sites:
Sandy
Bottom is a 13.5 Acre town park, in Bridgewater Virginia.
Bridgewater is a relatively small rural town, surrounded mostly
by agricultural land. There is a 3 par golf course located
in the park which is close to the Bridgewater College Campus.
North River runs along the side of the park boundary.
At this point in the river the surrounding land use would
be characterized by some urban/suburban areas of streets,
housing and business along with a larger area of agricultural
uses.
Riven
Rock Park is a 28-acre park managed by the City of
Harrisonburg Dept of Parks and Recreation. The park
adjoins George Washington National Forest land and would be
considered a largely forested and natural area with little
to no development. North River, a drinking water source
for the City of Harrisonburg runs through the park.
